If you already have experience with odd rhythms and have good timing, you can live your drumming life to the fullest with us. Of course you also can get involved in the songwriting and all other creative processes. However, we want to leave the existing songs mostly and not completely reinvent the wheel there, but you can of course fit the groove to your playing style. We have no problem if you are also active in other bands as long as a regular rehearsal schedule can be kept.
Dark Matter Symmetry's style lies somewhere between neo-prog, prog-rock and prog-metal, with borrowings from classical, jazz, fusion and rock. Components of our sound are odd, tricky rhythms, complex harmonies and song structures with melancholic, gloomy passages, but also uplifting moments. We tell fictional stories or work through autobiographical experiences and strongly emphazise meaningful lyrics and epic storylines. Our ambition is to bring our music to life in the best possible way with the skills and resources available to us. We have a free rehearsal room in the southwest of Munich.
